December 3, 2021

The study presents cost-benefit analyses (CBA) of the work-based learning model in agriculture. The costs and benefits of engaging students in the teaching practice by agribusinesses were assessed in the document.

In the course of the study, company representatives providing teaching practice for the students (from the fields of beekeeping, gardening, fruit growing, fishery, veterinary, meat processing, etc.) were interviewed In August – December 2020. Expenses made by the agribusiness for each student were identified and compared to the benefits a business gets by employing a student.

The document was prepared with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
