The project is assisting the regional and local self-governance reform in four major areas:
- Improvement of policy and institutional frameworks to foster decentralization and promote good governance at the local level.
- Enhancement of institutional and human capacities of the national and local authorities.
- Improvement of the municipal service delivery.
- Empowerment of the right holders to engage in local policy making.
The project is being implemented in close partnership with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Parliament of Georgia, National Association of Local Authorities (NALA), Civil Service Bureau of Georgia, municipal authorities in three target regions (Kvemo Kartli, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Imereti), civil society organisations and local businesses.
