80 participants, including Georgian Mayors and representatives of the ministries and municipalities gathered in Tbilisi on 21 June to discuss the preparation and implementation of public-private initiatives.

With the aim to promote greater cooperation between the public and private sectors of Georgia, the workshop created an effective platform for harnessing the international experience and practice in this field.

The participants met with the experts from France and the Netherlands to share their hands-on experience in using a mix of public and private endeavours in the implementation of different projects, including the provision of infrastructure, creating employment, testing innovative approaches in economic development and making governance more open and efficient.

Furthermore, they discussed different models of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and the guiding principles of the implementation of the PPP projects.

The workshop followed a high-level conference organized by the newly established Public Private Partnership (PPP) Agency of Georgia on 20 June 2019, with assistance of the Asian Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the governments of Switzerland and Austria.
