Supporting Strategic Change in Civil Service of Georgia

Over 20 representatives of the Administration of Government of Georgia (AoG), Civil Service Bureau (CSB) and eight ministries took part in the training exercise on August 1-3, 2017, designed to help the Government of Georgia implement organizational changes, known as Change Management, needed for successful reforms in civil service.

The training was organized by the Georgian Government’s Change Management Team (CMT), with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UK aid from the UK Government, and delivered by a team of international and local experts from the Public Administration International (PAI) and the GEC Corporation.

The training will be followed by finalising a Change Management Plan (CMP) 2017-2018 to be adopted by the Public Administration Reform (PAR) Council, a body chaired by the Head of the Administration of Government of Georgia and composed of deputy ministers.

It is expected that the Change Management Plan 2017-2018 will be adopted by the end of 2017. 

The training is part of a wider initiative of the UK aid from the UK Government and UNDP in support of the ongoing Public Administration Reform in Georgia. The four-year GBP 4.5 million programme is assisting the key areas of reform in partnership with a team of state agencies – the Administration of the Government of Georgia, Civil Service Bureau (CSB), Data Exchange Agency (DEA) and Public Service Development Agency (PSDA).
