Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) come together to improve Georgia’s reporting performance under international treaties, including UN Treaty bodies.

Maia Panjikidze, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Niels Scott, the Head of UNDP launched a project  which will strengthen skills and competencies of the interagency working group responsible for coordinating preparation of the state reports, including Universal Periodic Review, an interstate mechanism to improve the human rights situation on the ground.

Trainings, preparation of the guidelines and further technical assistance are some of the components of the project. With the budget of USD 44,650 the project is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme under the Governance Reform Fund.

Governance Reform Fund is a decade long initiative of UNDP tailored to strengthen the public sector in Georgia and ease the implementation of the Government’s reform agenda.
