Veterinary Service for Tush Shepherds. 2014

The report follows the findings of the earlier research on local livelihoods of the Tush shepherds in Vashlovani Protected Area, which revealed the immediate need of the proper and unified veterinary system. The present study analyzes veterinary problems and needs of sheep breeders and shepherds as well as determines quality of the current veterinary infrastructure and veterinary services in municipalities. The study was carried out in Kakheti region in November 2014 and interviews were conducted with 56 Tush sheep owners and shepherds.  The study is followed by the recommendations for future steps in planning veterinary services.
