The guide is designed for specialists involved in biodiversity conservation and aimed at raising knowledge of the Emerald Network, as a tool for protecting biodiversity. The guidelines include methodologies, according to which plants and animals must be monitored on emerald sites.

The guide was prepared and published within the framework of the project “Enhancing Environmental Monitoring and Reporting in Georgia” (CCCD) with support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF).
