Mediation in Georgia: From Tradition to Modernity. 2016

The study examines the history of mediation in Georgia acknowledging that peaceful resolution of disputes has been part of the Georgian tradition over centuries and one of the factors which has created the need for establishing a modern practice of mediation.

The study includes historic overviews and cases from the mountainous regions of Georgia: Svaneti, Khevsureti, Pshavi and Abkhazia.

The research has been commissioned the European Union and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and carried out by the independent researcher, Sophio Tkemaladze.
